introduction to manifestation

To manifest generally means to bring something into reality through belief, intention, and inspired action.

In other words, you focus your thoughts and energy on what you want to achieve, thereby attracting it into your life.

You may think the biggest part of manifestation for writers is writing, yet writers face so many challenges on the way to publication.

And many of those challenges have to do with the writer’s own beliefs and intentions, which affect the action they take or have trouble taking.

That’s why it’s important to remember these key components of manifestation if you wish to be a successful (or more successful) writer:

Key Manifestation Component #1. Clarity of Intention

Clearly defining what you want to manifest is essential.

What do you want to write—a novel, a nonfiction book, a magazine article, etc.?

Think bigger than this, though.

Think about who you want to be as a writer.

And who your writing will serve and how it will serve them.

The answers to these questions become your mission statement, which guides the actions you will take.

Key Manifestation Component #2. Belief and positivity

Having faith and confidence that what you desire is achievable and that the universe (or whatever force you believe in) will support you in achieving it.

It’s like Henry Ford once said, “Whether you think you can, or you think you can’t…either way, you’re right.”

For example, how many times have you said you wanted to write a novel, but then kept saying to yourself, “I don’t know if I can do this.”

That self-doubt probably kept you from moving ahead to take the inspired action to write the novel.

Key Manifestation Component #3. Visualization

This just means mentally picturing yourself already in possession of or experiencing what you want to manifest.

This helps reinforce your belief and sends a powerful message to your subconscious mind.

I think it’s important for writers to see themselves writing, not just showing up for book signings—although it is helpful to visualize yourself at a big book signing, where you are selling hundreds of copies of your book.

Key Manifestation Component #4. Inspired Action

While positive thinking and visualization are important, taking concrete steps toward your writing goals is also necessary.

This might involve researching opportunities, networking, or putting plans into action.

The wonderful thing here is, it’s so much easier (and more fun) to take inspired action once you’re really clear about your mission as a writer and your current writing goal.

And, once you start taking inspired action on a regular basis, you gain confidence in yourself as a writer and the determination to reach your writing goals.

Key Manifestation Component #5. Letting Go

This simply means allowing the universe to work its magic without becoming overly attached to the outcome.

Trusting that what is meant for you will come to you, even if it doesn’t unfold exactly as you imagined.

The process of manifestation is a way to clarify your goals, maintain a positive mindset, and stay focused on your writing aspirations until you become the writer you wish to be.
