The best way to become a writer is to simply write.
In fact, develop a daily writing practice and, over time, you will see your writing improve.
Here are this week’s creative writing prompts.
Use either the written prompt or the visual prompt as the start to a new short story or even a novel.
1. Callie placed her wedding ring on the table and lit some candles. Her marriage was over and she needed to figure out what to do with the rest of her life.
2. Lindsey’s lifelong dream had finally come true and her little bakery was open for business.
3. Jacy Morrison would not be a typical widow.
4. Naomi couldn’t believe the number on the scales. She had gained weight again. How had that happened?
5. “Who is he?” Tammy said as she glanced at the cute dark-haired guy standing off to himself.
In typical nonchalant fashion her mother said, “Oh, I almost forgot. He’s your brother.”
6. If Donna’s best friend knew the truth, she would not be throwing this baby shower for Donna.
7. Jason had expected to spend another boring Thursday night doing his laundry. But then he’d spotted her…the girl in the dryer.
8. The house was beautiful, and they would be spending the next 10 days here, alone together.
9. Ava felt good about herself when she got ready for school. But then the bullying started again once she walked into the building.
10. Ethan rarely checked his phone, so by the time he read Natalie’s text, she would be long gone.
