1. “No one is going to eat Hazel,” said Celeste, and she held tightly to the chicken.
2. Tatiana was an unusual girl. She traveled the world with nothing but a single suitcase and a most unusual hat.
3. The canals were silent and there was no one around.
4. Naomi could still feel David’s presence beside her as she stood and stared at the sea.
5. She was a warrior through and through.
6. Jason looked at the white wolf. “Pretend you’re a dog, okay, or we’ll get thrown out of here!”
7. Nadia and Leo were going to live in their yellow and white VW bus and travel the world selling lemons. At least, that was the plan.
8. The wallet they found was full of cash and credit cards.
9. “I wouldn’t go up there, if I were you,” he said. But she continued up the stairs anyway.
10. The boy held up two fingers and smiled. But neither Amy nor Christopher had any idea what that meant.
