Why You Need to Know How to Write a Press Release
Whether you’re an author trying to find more readers for your books or a freelance writer trying to attract more clients, about every 6 to 8 weeks you should write a press release (also called a media release) about some new aspect of your writing or your business.
Once you’ve written the release, submit it to several free online press release distribution services.

You can also choose to pay to have your release disturbed through some online distribution services.
You might also submit to some appropriate local markets yourself.
A press release is designed to attract the attention of the media, so an editor, agent, or producer calls you for more information and perhaps an interview.
When this happens, you gain lots of new exposure for your books and/or your writing business.
If you’ve never written and submitted a press release about your writing or your business, or it’s been quite a while since you’ve written one, take some time this week to write and submit a press release about some newsworthy aspect of what you do.
Try it!
