manifest your writing dreams

If you’re having trouble manifesting your writing dreams, it probably isn’t due to lack of talent or writing skill.

Instead, you’re facing other mental challenges.

Here are some common hurdles you might face when you’re trying to make your writing and publishing dreams come true:

Negative Thoughts – AKA Limiting Beliefs

These are the thoughts that make you doubt yourself or your abilities.

They might come from past experiences or from comparing yourself to others.

Negative beliefs about yourself or the world can sabotage your efforts to manifest your writing dreams.

Beliefs such as “I’m not good enough” or “Success is not meant for me” hinder progress.

Overcoming negative thoughts involves recognizing when they pop up and challenging them with more positive and realistic thinking.

For example, if you catch yourself thinking, “I’ll never be as good as other writers,” change that thought to, “Every writer has their own journey, and I’m working on improving every day.”

Fear of Failing

Fear of failure can paralyze you, preventing you from taking risks or pursuing your writing dreams, so you constantly procrastinate when it comes to writing.

Overcoming this fear involves accepting that failure is a natural part of the learning process and reframing it as an opportunity to grow.

Setting small, achievable goals can help build confidence and reduce the fear of failure, too.

Not Knowing What You Want

If you’re not sure exactly what you want to achieve with your writing, it’s hard to make it happen.

Take the time to reflect on your passions, interests, and goals to create a mission statement or statement of purpose for yourself as a writer.

This statement should describe what kinds of materials you want to write, who will read them, and how will they serve these readers.

Once you have a clearer understanding of your purpose as a writer, you can set specific goals and create a roadmap to reach them.

Giving Up Too Easily

Making your dreams real takes time and effort.

But if things get tough, you might feel like throwing in the towel instead of pushing through.

Many people give up too soon when faced with challenges or setbacks along the way.

Persistence is key when it comes to manifesting your writing dreams.

It’s natural to face obstacles and setbacks along the way, but it’s important not to let them keep you from your goals.

Instead of seeing challenges as roadblocks, view them as opportunities to learn and grow.

Break your big goals into smaller, manageable tasks, and celebrate each small victory to stay motivated and keep moving forward.

Not Liking Change

Going after your dreams often means doing things differently or stepping out of your comfort zone.

Some people struggle with this.

Stepping out of your comfort zone can be uncomfortable and scary, but it’s often necessary to achieve your writing dreams.

Embracing change means being open to trying new writing styles, exploring different genres, or seeking out new opportunities for growth.

Remember that growth and progress rarely happen within the confines of your comfort zone, so challenge yourself to push past any resistance to change.

Negative People

Surrounding yourself with supportive people who believe in your writing abilities can make a world of difference.

However, negative opinions or discouragement from others can shake your confidence and make it harder to stay motivated.

It’s important to set boundaries with negative influences and seek out communities or mentors who uplift and inspire you.

Make friends with people who share your passion for writing and who genuinely want to see you succeed.

Not Being Disciplined

Manifesting dreams requires discipline and commitment.

Without the discipline to stay focused and take consistent action, progress may be slow or nonexistent.

You can overcome each of these mental challenges now that you are fully aware of them.
