Every Sunday I have new writing prompts here for you to try.
Choose just one prompt each day and write a new story and you’ll have 7 new stories each week.
Do this for a month or longer and you should start to see your writing improve.
Plus, you’ll have dozens of short stories to revise as you become a better writer and realize what you can do to make each story even better.
Ready to try this week’s new writing prompts?
Here they are:
1. It was a day like any other until…
2. “I thought you and I were best friends, Joan,” said Marcy. “How could you do this to me?”
Joan smiled weakly.
3. “Relax,” said Jason as he looked at his wife. “We can do this. It’ll be like a day at the beach.”
4. The man with the microphone lurched towards her. “What are you going to do with the 350 million dollars you’ve just won, Mrs. Sawyer.”
5. “How much longer?” asked Lucas for the 50th time.
“Try to rest, sweetie,” said his mother. “We’ll be there in a few hours.”
6. Clarice stared at the huge box with the words “Vacuum Cleaner” on the side of it.
She and Harold had only been married for two months and he thought this was the perfect birthday present for her? Our marriage is over, she thought.
7. It was a surprise party all right. When Lucy opened the door and the lights went on and everyone yelled, “Surprise”, she stepped back outside into the night, slammed the door, jumped in her car, and drove away.
That’s it.
Let me know if you’re enjoying these prompts and whether you’d like to see more visual prompts with the written prompts each week.
