If you need short story ideas, try one or more of these prompts with photo prompts.
1. “I know they just look like a bunch of old buttons,” he said, “but trust me, they’re magic buttons!”
2. They would need to cross the lake on horseback.
3. She clutched the sword. “Is this what you’re looking for,” she asked him.
4. He’d never seen a public park with cows before.
“Come on,” she told him, “let’s go sit on the bench. The cows won’t bother us.”
5. “Welcome to your new home,” he told her.
She realized the glass domes he was referring to were nothing more than glass cages.
6. She stared at the car and frowned. “It’s doesn’t look like a race car,” she said to him. “It just looks like an old car.”
“Well, looks can be deceiving,” he told her.
7. When he got home, she was standing in the doorway. “Where have you been,” she asked him.
8. He awoke to his worst nightmare. How would he ever get out of here alive, he wondered.
9. “Follow the monk” they told her, “no matter where he goes, just follow him.”
10. “This is what we’re going to be living in,” she said to him, “a school bus?”
He smiled. “Isn’t it great?”
