Just for fun, here are seven new creative writing prompts centered around Halloween candy:

Monday’s Prompt: The Candy Code

Every Halloween, a mysterious candy appears in children’s trick-or-treat bags—a candy that no one bought or handed out.

Rumor has it, each wrapper holds a hidden code that, when deciphered, reveals a secret about the town’s dark past.

This year, a curious group of friends decides to crack the code. What do they uncover?

Tuesday’s Prompt: Sweet Revenge

A notorious candy thief has been stealing the best pieces from kids’ Halloween hauls for years.

This Halloween, a group of determined kids decides to lure the thief with the ultimate candy bait—only to discover that the thief isn’t what they expected at all.

What’s the thief’s real motive?

Wednesday’s Prompt: Candy’s Curse

A new candy shop opens just before Halloween, selling candies that look like miniatures of familiar household items.

The catch?

When the candy is eaten, the real item disappears from your home.

A child, unknowingly, eats a piece and soon realizes their entire house is slowly vanishing.

How do they stop it?

Thursday’s Prompt: The Haunted Candy Factory

Legend has it that the abandoned candy factory at the edge of town was once owned by a witch who disappeared on Halloween night.

This year, a group of kids sneaks into the factory to gather the candy that supposedly grants wishes…but only if it’s consumed inside the factory itself.

What happens when they make their wishes?

Friday’s Prompt: The Unwanted Treat

In a town obsessed with candy, a strange, glowing piece appears in each trick-or-treat bag.

The catch?

Anyone who eats it suddenly starts craving the most bizarre things instead of candy—like tree bark or raw onions.

A young protagonist finds themselves battling this strange craving and searching for the source of the candy before it takes over the town.

Saturday’s Prompt: Candy from the Other Side

Every Halloween, there’s one house no one dares to visit.

But this year, one child receives a special invitation to that house, with the promise of the rarest Halloween candy ever made.

However, the candy comes with a price—a secret that must be kept until the next Halloween.

What happens if the child breaks the rules?

Sunday’s Prompt: The Goblin’s Candy Tax

In this town, Halloween night means more than just trick-or-treating—it’s the night when goblins demand their “Candy Tax.”

Those who refuse to pay wake up the next day to find their candy mysteriously gone, but this year, someone decides not to pay.

They wake up to find their entire house turned into candy.

What do they do, and can they reverse the goblins’ magic?
