It’s Sunday again and time for some new creative writing prompts for the week ahead.
Use one or more of these prompts each day this week to start a new short story, a poem, or even the beginning of a new novel.
1. Jon looked at Meredith in disbelief. “What do you mean you have a new job?” he said.
Meredith smiled. “I’m a pet sitter. I’m taking care of the Martins’ dogs for the next 3 weeks.”
2. Jason patted his wife’s hand. “We always think things like this only happen to other people. But this time, it’s happened to us.”
3. Ada opened her front door and quickly the surveyed her living room. Her new puppy, Rupert, came bounding up to her.
“Oh, Rupert,” said Ada, “how can such a little puppy make such a big mess?”
4. June was supposed to be a lovely month for weddings.
5. “Just this one thing,” said Michael. “Just do this one thing to make me happy.”
Tashia gulped. She knew she couldn’t do it, even though she wanted more than anything to make Michael happy.
6. Peggy hated blind dates. But, she had to admit, this one was turning out rather well.
7. Everyone makes mistakes, and it usually isn’t the end of the world. But it will be the end of the world as I know it, if I mess this up, thought Maya.
8. Remote didn’t begin to describe the location Gerald had chosen for his and Sophia’s holiday.
“I don’t think I can stay here,” said Sophia. “I’m sorry, Gerald.”
9. It was Eden’s graduation party, so where was she?
10. Marvin’s mother handed him the check they had talked about – the check for $900,000.00.
“There are stipulations with this money, of course,” she said, as Marvin stared at all the zeros on the check.
