1. “Get in here,” he commanded. “Then shut the door!”
2. The sun was just coming up over the ocean.
Jennifer sat on the balcony of her beautiful condo, admiring the view.
Life was good at the beach.
In fact, it couldn’t get any better, or so she thought.
3. Birds were chirping in the trees, daffodils were sprouting up everywhere, and the breeze was warmer than it had been in weeks.
To Mary, spring was always a new beginning.
So now what? she wondered.
4. John had finally burned all his bridges.
5. It was a cliche, of course, but as he looked out across the crowded room, he knew the woman in the red dress would become the love of his life.
6. A dog.
Kelly’s husband said he was bringing home something new for her to love.
It had to be a dog.
7. As Marcus opened the door to his office, he gasped.
Papers were strewn everywhere.
His desk drawers were all wide open.
The blinds rattled in the breeze that was coming through the gaping hole in the front window.
8. “Give me that!” she said.
9. “You’ll never get away with this!” Jonathan spat at her.
She just smiled slyly.
10. When she opened the front door, she saw it.
