Here are some creative writing prompts to help you get a little writing practice every day this week.

Monday’s Prompt – The Word That Disappeared

One morning, you wake up and realize there’s a word no one can say anymore.

Not in books, not in conversations, not even in memories.

It’s just…gone.

But you remember it.

And you’re the only one who does.

What happens next?

Tuesday’s Prompt – The Unfinished Map

You inherit—or stumble upon—a mysterious map.

But there’s a problem: a section of it is missing.

The place it leads to isn’t marked anywhere else in the world.

Do you try to find the missing piece?

Or do you go searching without it?

Wednesday’s Prompt – The Clock That Counts Backward

A clock on your wall suddenly starts counting backward.

The numbers shift in ways they shouldn’t.

Is it a mistake?

A warning?

Or a glimpse at something bigger than time itself?

Thursday’s Prompt – The Person Who Shouldn’t Be There

You’re in a familiar place—a café, your office, your childhood home—when you see someone you know… but they can’t possibly be there.

Maybe they moved away, maybe they’re long gone, maybe they’re someone you only dreamed about.

But they look right at you.

What do you do?

Friday’s Prompt – The Sound That Calls You

No one else hears it, but the sound keeps finding you.

Maybe it’s a whisper, a song, a pulse of something just beyond reach.

And it’s leading you somewhere.

Do you follow it?

And what’s waiting when you do?

Saturday’s Prompt – The Ink That Won’t Fade

You write something down—a note, a secret, a passing thought—and try to erase it.

But no matter what you do, the ink won’t fade.

In fact, it starts to change.

New words appear.

A message unfolds.

Who—or what—is writing back?

Sunday’s Prompt – The Storm That Never Ends

Rain has been falling for days.

The wind won’t stop howling.

The world outside is washed in gray.

No one seems to know why the storm won’t pass—or if it ever will.

But something about it feels personal, like it’s trying to tell you something.

What is it?
