I Love to Write by the Sea and Paint by the Sea
If you read my previous post you know that “JOY” is my word for 2021, which means I want to find joy in all things this year.
One of the things that is always such a joyous experience for me is walking along the beach.
Fortunately, I am able to take a walk on the beach every day, if I want.
The other evening Adrian and I took a delicious walk on the beach (about 2 miles). We collected seashells and took some photos.
There was a cool breeze and the tide was low, so the sand was nice and packed next to shore, making it easy to walk on.
There were little tide pools to explore (we often find great shells in the tide pools) and the sun was going down behind the dunes, so it was a delightful evening.
And even though this is the busy season here in southern Florida, it was almost as if we had the beach to ourselves (which is usually the case).
We walked past the hotel where we will hold our first Writers Retreat for Wealthy Writers Club members this year in June. Here are a couple of photos:
We even saw some snorkelers:
Last evening we didn’t get to walk on the beach because we painted instead.
Here’s the painting I made. I’m not totally pleased with it, so I’ll try painting this again to get better at the “swirly” technique.
I also got quite a bit of writing done this past week, so I’ve had both a fun and productive time, and it just doesn’t get much better than that.
I find that the beach and to be able to paint by the sea both inspire me to write.
What about you?
What inspires you to write?
Whatever it is, try to allow more of it into your life this year!
Happy writing!
